Sweden SharePoint User Group, May 28th Re-Cap

Author: Tobias Zimmergren
URL: http://www.zimmergren.net

Introduction

On May 28th we held our Sweden SharePoint User Group meeting in Stockholm with great success.

Sponsoring the event for the evening was Precio, who had an arsenal of food and drinks layered up for us to dive into in-between sessions.

With that said, thank you Precio for lending us your time, place and beer.

What was said / Agenda

During the event, we had three main sessions:

  • SPVisualDev by Tony Restaino (Precio)
    • During this session, Tony did a great demonstration of how his CodePlex tool (SPVisualDev) can help you as a developer to complete your tasks a bit faster. A great complement to WSPBuilder!
  • Microsoft Certified Master by Peter Williams (Microsoft Sweden)
    • As the only one in Sweden who is a Microsoft Certified Master on SharePoint, Peter did an awesome job describing what the MCM program is all about.
If I can get hold of the presentation from Peter I will have this article updated with links to it.
  • Nintex Workflows by Mikael Bolin (HumanData)
    • Giving us a brief overview of what Nintex workflows bring to the table was clearly appreciated.

Post-Session Photos

And the real reason for this post is so I can show you some photos of the event!

MVP Tobias Zimmergren moderating the meeting Tony Restaino presenting SPVisualDev Parts of the audience
Mikael Bolin presenting on Nintex MVP Göran Husman wondering where the beer is SSUG Sthlm 20090528 (36)
Peter Williams, Microsoft, presenting the Microsoft Certified Master program for SharePoint This is why I am attending - beer and snacks SSUG Sthlm 20090528 (11)

Thanks to Tony for shooting some great pictures of the event - please bring this amazing camera next time ;-)

TechDays 2009 Sweden - Summary of the event

Author: Tobias Zimmergren
URL: http://www.zimmergren.net

Introduction

I know, it's a tad late - but better late than never, right?

TechDays 2009 is done for this time around. It was the first TechDays to take off in Sweden, but I surely do hope to see more of those events going on!

"A success for a fully booked TechDays: 2 days, 100 sessions, 100 speakers and 1300 people attending the sessions. Microsoft's first - and largest - Swedish event for IT Pro's, developers and IT-managers has come to an end. A lot of appreciated sessions, lots of social networking and evening mingle."

- Microsoft

Tibi TechDays 2009 Västerås TechDays 2009 Västerås

Sweden SharePoint User Group / Sweden SharePoint Community

As a representative for the Sweden SharePoint User Group and Sweden SharePoint Community (link), I met a bunch of cool people - as well as signing up a bunch of new members.
I even handed out FREE T-Shirts with the tagline "Sweden SharePoint User Group" written on the back, which was sponsored by BambooSolutions - thanks Bamboo!

We're constantly growing, and it seems to be a huge interest for the User Group meetings we are providing. It wouldn't be possible without you - the SharePoint users, editors, designers, administrators, developers, haters and lovers! Thanks.

Community and UG status: 200+ members on the page, and another 600 people on the UG event mailing list who have signed up for www.sharepointforum.com

SharePoint rules, and don't you dare say anything different! ;-)

It's not all work and business

During the evenings, we all shared a few pints and drinks of golden love (beer/whisky).
I met one of the most interesting and cool guys I've ever met, in the first picture below. Then it's me and Göran Husman sharing a pint, and then during break at the event.

MVP Tobias Zimmergren and.. Einstein? MVP Göran Husman, MVP Tobias Zimmergren MVP Göran Husman

Summary

I did enjoy the TechDays 2009 in Västerås, and I will most definitely be around next time as well!
I do hope to see as many of you Swedish guys and gals as possible there!

Thank you Microsoft for organizing this awesome event. Kudos.

Sweden SharePoint User Group Malmö - First meeting done

Author: Tobias Zimmergren
URL: http://www.zimmergren.net

Thank you

I would like to thank everyone for showing up at the meeting yesterday. I had a great time and it seems that most of you did too.

Presentations

MVP Carsten Keutmann did a live demo of his awesome products: WSPBuilder and SharePoint Manager 2007. Great job Carsten, and thanks for tuning in!

I did a minor presentation on SharePoint Online and then went over to some live demos of what the admin-portal and the single sign-in application looks like and how it all works.

The presentation can be downloaded here

Membership

If you're not a member of the Sweden SharePoint User Group already, I urge you to sign up for an account and join the group on this address:
http://www.sharepointcommunity.se/group/swedensharepointusergroup

New URL?
Yes, we've moved the User Group to the NING-platform for a period of time while we build our new platform in SharePoint due to the fact that NING is a lot easier for user management and community-contributions than SharePoint is out of the box (dang, did I just admit that?)

Summary

With that said, thank you again for showing up and showing your interest in our SharePoint User Group. Great stuff!

Any and all that are interested in speaking at one of the UG-meetings are more than welcome to contact me (tobias@zimmergren.net) and we'll be sure to hook that up!

Sweden SharePoint User Group presentations

You’ll find the presentations from the UG meeting here;

I’m still waiting for access to the site from Daniel. Before I get that access I’m afraid I can’t do any real admin-stuff as we’ve discussed..

For any issues, questions, proposals, ideas or other thoughts regarding the User Group – mail me using the contactform under “contact”.

Sweden SharePoint User Group – First meeting done

We had our first meeting this tuesday (November 18th) with about 30 people showing up. The interest is growing for the group, and as it looks now there’ll be more people coming to the next set of meetings. Fun!

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the meeting taking place.

In the picture I’m doing a presentation on what’s new and hot in the SharePoint world. And it looks like I’m trying to fly out from there with my left arm…

All in all, it was a great evening!

Hope to see you around!

Anyone can register and attend the meeting, as long as you sign up here!

I will be presenting some highlights (at least what I found interesting in my SharePointer-eye) from TechEd Developers – which is also a recap of what was said at the PDC conference!

I hope to see you there!
